Wyboston Lakes Bedroom refurb project
Embarking on a £1 million pound project
Wyboston Lakes is embarking on a £1million bedroom refurbishment project in the Wyboston Lakes Hotel. The project started on July 20th 2015, with plans for completion by the end of November 2015.

Wyboston Lakes sought the help of ‘Butterscotch Designs’ to create a concept that would offer a luxury feel, with comfort and practicality. Earlier in the year sample bedrooms were created in the new designs and after receiving 138 guest reviews, re-designs were created and the new bedrooms, it is hoped, will offer the best experience when staying at Wyboston Lakes.

The new bedroom refurbishment will really benefit our guests overall experience. It was important for us to ensure the Hotel bedrooms matched the overall leisure and spa experiences available for guests to enjoy. We wanted to remove the original corporate look and feel and create a bedroom around comfort and relaxation. We have selected the best designers and contractors to work with on this project to ensure we achieve the best possible finish."
- Mark Haynes, Director of Property

CLC Group were chosen as contractors for the first phase of refurbishments as they were able to demonstrate their capability of working in live hospitality environments whilst providing a condensed program of works. This allows refurbished rooms to be available to guests sooner with less disruption to other hotel guests and visitors.
Wyboston Lakes will of course remain open as usual, hosting an array of events such as weddings, spa breaks and private functions. The new bedrooms will offer a luxury feel to complement the award winning Y Spa.

Wyboston Lakes prides themselves on being eco-friendly therefore, they will be recycling a lot of the furnishings to the other venues. They have also donated existing soft furnishings and loose furniture including lamps to the Emmaus Cambridge charity.

Wyboston Lakes have also invested in Crave; a leading provider of guest-facing Hotel Tablet and App solutions to the hospitality industry. This exciting new technology helps provide great service via tablets and smartphones to their guests. Each new bedroom will be fully equipped with a tablet with software created exclusively for Wyboston Lakes. This will include the chance to view menus and order room service, local area information, book spa treatments and so much more. These tablets are linked to the reservations team, Y Spa Reception and the main kitchen to ensure the guests requests are dealt with immediately.

It is fantastic to have such a special working environment as well as the continued commitment of the Hutchinson family to develop the business further by investing over £1 Million back into the Hotel this year. This has helped to support the ongoing refurbishment and improvement program.”

– Mark Haynes, Director of Property

Plans to refurbish the remaining 40 bedrooms are also in motion, with the sample rooms being finished by Autumn 2015 and the 2nd phase of bedroom refurbishments due to commence in January 2016. These rooms will cater for the business traveller therefore they will contain a higher executive specification. They will have a light and airy feel to ensure the guest experience is practical yet remains comfortable and luxurious. This along with the planned external upgrades to the cladding on the main building will help Wyboston Lakes to prepare for achieving a 4* rating for the Hotel.
